Diffusion processes of matter and energy exhibit a characteristic scaling behaviour. In the talk, this scaling behaviour is discussed and its implications for various fields of science and technology as well as for everday life are explored. Among other topics, examples from food, housing, biotechnolgy, polymerizations and MRI will be adressed.
