AMI researchers make Soft Matter front cover

A new kind of nanoparticle in so-called microgels might make it possible to bring drugs at the exact place where it is necessary in the body of a patient. This is one of the potential future application of a combination of magnetic and temperature sensitive materials, which are developed by AMI researchers, in collaboration with the Soft Matter Photonics group in the Physics Department of the University of Fribourg. Both the shape and the orientation of the smart micro-gel particles can be tuned with external stimuli. The published results made it into the top 10 most downloaded articles in May in the reknown journal Soft Matter.
