Foundation

In late 2007, Adolphe Merkle set up the Adolphe Merkle Foundation and donated 100 million Swiss francs to Fribourg University.

 

The donation is primarily being used to establish the Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI), but will also support other areas such as a Chair of Innovation Management and Technology Transfer, the Institute of Multilingualism and a prize worth 500,000 francs which will be awarded every three years in recognition of outstanding scientific, cultural, social or business achievements.
