Industries

Contact and cooperation with industry is exceptionally important to the Adolphe Merkle Institute (AMI). In addition to pursuing basic research, its research activities revolve primarily around:

  • Long-term applied research in cooperation with local, national and international industry.

  • Short-term contract research, primarily for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The AMI operates an industrial liaison and technology transfer office and an applications laboratory for SMEs.

AMI is part of the Science and Technology Center of the Canton of Fribourg (PST-FR) where it helps the local and regional industry to enter nanotechnology -> Website PST-FR.

The objective is to acquire sustainable private funding and to enhance the attractiveness of Fribourg as a base for high-tech companies.
