AMI Alumni, BioNanomaterials
From 2012 to 2015

Dagmar Kuhn was born in Switzerland. She lived in Ontario, Canada, for two years, where she improved her English skills. She studied Cell Biology at the University of Bern in Switzerland and graduated in mid-2010 with a Master's degree in Molecular Life Sciences, specializing on nanoparticle uptake into cells at the institute of anatomy in the group of Prof. Peter Gehr in Bern. During her studies in Bern she was employed as a highschool teacher and worked in the Feusi Gymnasium for almost two years. During this time, she obtained a teaching degree in Biology and started her PhD in 2012 in the BioNanomaterials group at the Adolphe Merkle Institute in Fribourg, where she is under the supervision of Prof. Barbara Rothen-Rutishauser. Her work focuses on the interaction of immune cells with nanoparticles by investigating the uptake pathways and intracellular fate.
